Photoshop Elements is great. Options for customizing my pics is limited only by my imagination. Although if you haven't used similar software in the past, I recommend taking a class or getting Photoshop for Dummies to get you started. I haven't had a chance to work much with Premier but so far it's great too!

After reading all the negative reviews here I was tempted not to purchase this software and upgrade my Paintshop Pro instead. After downloading and trying all four software package trials, I decided I liked Elements 8 the best.
I don't have problems with crashes. It does say something from time to time about my graphics card but I haven't noticed any detrimental effects from the notice. I'm using this software on an I5 430 laptop with 4GB of memory and 128mb of integrated video. Like I said, no problems. Video conversion is a little time consuming but that's expected.
I'm going to have a learning curve as the layout is different than what I'm used to with PSP but nothing that can't be learned. As a web developer and not a photo buff, I feel Elements has more useful features than PSP. I think it handles gradients better without leaving bands. It also extracts foreground images better (but I might have done better if I took more time and effort - I don't know).
I wish I could disable the whole photo collection part of this software and just use it for editing. I know where my images are and how to find them. Some people might like this feature but I find it annoying.
Found out I had to wait 5 days for my free shipping to actually be shipped, and then wait another week or two. I realize it is considered free shipping but a 5 day handling time to ship a 1 product order is ridiculous. The only reason I didn't cancel the order and opted to upgrade to 2nd day air is because Amazon had the lowest price by $[...] after rebate. That was nice.

This product will allow me to do the editing of pictures and videos as I requested but it wasn't clear that for a few dollars more, I could have purchased another Adobe product which would have given me what I got and a whole lot more. I would have purchased a different Adobe product if I had understood the details of each of their products more clearly.
Adobe needs to be more clear about each product's features as well as the product's bells and whistles (the fun stuff). A product by product comparison of features chart would be great.

I owned the previous version of the adobe suite. Wanted to upgrade so tried out the version 8. I was extremely disappointed. The programs were slow, buggy and unintuitive. What happened to adobe ???
I can see they are cheaper but practically useless from user point of view. Nothing seems to work and it crashes on a regular basis, so what is the use of cheap product.
Bottom line, Adobe needs to reemploy the good programmers who had designed the earlier version otherwise it will lose users like us

I do a lot of photo editing and DVD slide shows, so the Adobe Photoshop Elements 8
and Adobe Premiere Elements 8 is a great product for a great price. This is the third
upgrade of the combined editing software and by far the best yet. I recently created
a birthday DVD combining 400 photos and 3 videos for my granddaughter's 10th birthday,
and with this updated version it took half the time and for the first time I could use MP4
audio for the project. She loved it !! Great product and well worth the investment.
